One contractor, start to finish

A coating is only as good as the surface under it

Cracked concrete, corroded steel, moving joints and trapped moisture all need fixing before anything is sprayed. On most projects that means a remedial contractor, then a coating applicator, then an insulation installer, each with their own warranty and their own view of whose fault it is when something goes wrong.

We bring those scopes together. Our crews repair the substrate, apply the polyurea system and add spray foam insulation where the asset needs it. You deal with one team, one program and two warranties: ours and the manufacturer's.

What we do

Fix. Repair. Seal. Insulate.

Asset owners want the substrate fixed and sealed by one company. That's how we scope every polyurea job.

  1. 01
    Fix

    Find the cause

We inspect the asset and work out why it's failing, whether that's water getting in, ground movement, corrosion or cracking. Coating over the problem only hides it.

  2. 02
    Repair

    Remediate the substrate

Crack injection, concrete patching, joint detailing, void filling and polyurethane ground stabilisation, done by the same crew that will coat it.

  3. 03
    Seal

    Spray the polyurea

A seamless, fully bonded membrane sprayed over the repaired surface, with no laps or joints for water to find.

  4. 04
    Insulate

    Add insulation if it helps

Closed cell spray foam under or behind the membrane for thermal performance, from the team that already insulates sites across Australia.

    The spray foam bonus
Fewer contractors, fewer warranties

Two warranties instead of ten

The fewer contractors and products in a solution, the fewer places for it to go wrong, and the easier it is to know who to call.

The usual way

Separate trades for each step

  • A remedial contractor, a coating applicator and an insulation installer
  • A separate product warranty for every system used
  • Gaps in responsibility at each handover between trades
  • Finger pointing when something fails down the track
  • More inductions, scheduling and supervision for your team
With Spray Foam Australia

One team accountable for the result

  • One crew from the first inspection to final handover
  • Our workmanship warranty plus the manufacturer's product warranty
  • Repairs and coating specified together as one system
  • One point of contact who owns the result
  • A shorter program and less time with the asset out of service
Why polyurea

Built for surfaces that take a beating

Polyurea is a two part spray coating that reacts within seconds of leaving the gun. The result is a tough, flexible membrane bonded to the surface, with no seams to leak or peel.

Polyurea being sprayed across a commercial roof
  • Quick return to service

Polyurea sets very quickly, so coated areas can usually go back into use much sooner than with slower curing coatings.

  • Seamless membrane

Sprayed as one continuous layer, with no seams, laps or joints, and it follows edges, penetrations and complex shapes.

  • Flexible and crack bridging

An elastomeric film that moves with the substrate and helps bridge hairline cracks rather than splitting with them.

  • Tough wearing surface

Resists abrasion and impact, which suits trafficked floors, truck trays, chutes and high wear plant.

  • Waterproof barrier

Forms an impermeable barrier for roofs, tanks, bunds and below ground structures. Chemical resistance depends on the system chosen.

  • Bonds to most surfaces

Concrete, steel, timber, fibreglass and spray foam, with the right preparation and primer for each substrate.

Applications

Where we use polyurea

From a leaking roof to a remote processing plant, the approach is the same: repair what's there, then seal it.

  • Applicator spraying light grey polyurea membrane across a commercial concrete roof

    Roofs, decks and podiums

Waterproof flat concrete, metal and membrane roofs, balconies and podiums. Polyurea can be sprayed over spray foam for an insulated, sealed roof.

  • Applicator spraying blue polyurea lining onto the steps of an empty concrete pool

    Pools, ponds and water features

Line concrete pools, ponds, tanks and water features with a continuous membrane that follows steps, corners and edges.

  • Worker inspecting a polyurea coated slab edge with encapsulated anchor bolts

    Foundations and below ground

Repair and waterproof footings, plinths, retaining walls and slab edges, including detailing around bolts and penetrations.

  • Applicator spraying abrasion resistant polyurea lining inside a steel chute at a mine site

    Mining and processing plant

Abrasion and water protection for ponds, bunds, sumps, chutes, truck trays and wet processing areas on remote sites.

  • Applicator on a lift spraying polyurea lining inside a concrete water tank

    Tanks and containment

Internal linings and external protection for steel and concrete tanks, with spray foam insulation where temperature matters.

  • Technician injecting a crack in a warehouse floor beside a polyurea coated section

    Cracked and failing concrete

Slabs, floors and structures that need repair first. We fix the cracks and voids, then seal the surface so the damage doesn't come back.

The bonus

Insulation from the same crew

Spray foam is what we're known for. On roofs, cool rooms, tanks and plant, we can apply closed cell foam first and seal it with polyurea, so you get thermal performance and a waterproof, hard wearing surface in one program.

Systems

The right system for the asset

We pick the system from the exposure, traffic and substrate, not the other way round. Every system comes with its manufacturer data sheet and warranty.

Data sheets and specificationsAsk for the TDS, SDS and specification for your project.
  • Pure polyurea

Our main system for waterproofing, linings and high wear protection.

  • Hybrid polyurea

A cost effective option for less demanding exposure and larger areas.

  • Polyaspartic floor coatings

Hard wearing, UV stable finishes for garages, workshops and showrooms.

  • Fire retardant polyurea

For utility assets in bushfire prone areas, such as power poles, fencing and switchgear.

  • Polyurethane ground stabilisation

Injected under slabs and footings to restore support before the surface is sealed.

  • Spray foam plus polyurea

Closed cell foam with a polyurea topcoat for roofs, cool rooms and tanks.

How it works

From inspection to handover

  1. Inspector checking a coated foundation plinth by handStep 1

    Inspect and test

We look at the substrate, moisture, movement and exposure, and check adhesion so the system suits the actual surface.

  2. Crack in a concrete slab being injectedStep 2

    Repair the substrate

Cracks, spalls, joints and voids are repaired, and any unstable ground is addressed before coating starts.

  3. Prepared roof surface being sprayed with polyureaStep 3

    Prepare and prime

The surface is cleaned and profiled, then primed to suit concrete, steel or timber so the membrane bonds properly.

  4. Finished blue polyurea lining being sprayed on pool stepsStep 4

    Spray, check and hand over

The membrane is sprayed to the specified thickness, checked, and handed over with your warranty documentation.

Expert Answers

Polyurea coating FAQs

What asset owners and builders ask about polyurea, from repairs and cure times to warranties and data sheets.

Have a specific project question?

Our team can talk through your substrate, access, climate and the data sheets you need.

Ask Our Technical Team

What is polyurea?

Polyurea is a two part spray applied coating. The two components are heated and mixed at the gun, react within seconds, and form a tough, flexible and seamless membrane that bonds to the surface underneath.

Why do you repair the substrate before coating?

Most coating failures come from the surface underneath: cracking, moisture, corrosion or movement. Repairing that first, as part of the same job, means the coating is going onto something sound and one contractor is accountable for the whole result.

How soon can the area be used again?

Polyurea sets very quickly, so the return to service is usually much shorter than with conventional coatings. The exact times depend on the system, thickness and conditions, and we confirm them from the product data sheet for your project.

Can polyurea be combined with spray foam insulation?

Yes. Closed cell spray foam with a polyurea topcoat is a common pairing for roofs, cool rooms and tanks, giving insulation and a waterproof, hard wearing surface from one team.

Is polyurea suitable for drinking water tanks?

Some polyurea systems are tested for contact with drinking water under AS/NZS 4020. Not every product is, so we confirm the certification of the specific system before quoting a potable water job.

What warranty do I get?

You get our workmanship warranty and the manufacturer's product warranty, so two parties stand behind the system rather than several. Terms depend on the system and scope, and are set out in writing with your quote.

Can you send the data sheets and specifications?

Yes. Ask us for the technical data sheet, safety data sheet and specification for the system that suits your project and we'll send them through.

How much does polyurea coating cost?

It depends on the area, the amount of repair work, access, the system and the thickness required. We inspect the asset and give you a fixed scope and price covering the repair and coating together.
