What's the best way to insulate a metal shed?

Closed cell spray foam is a strong option because it bonds directly to metal sheeting and framing, insulating the shed while sealing gaps and helping control condensation.

Will spray foam make my shed cooler in summer?

It slows heat moving through the roof and walls, helping the shed stay cooler than it would with bare metal. Results depend on the shed, ventilation and thickness.

Does spray foam stop shed condensation?

Closed cell foam isn't water permeable and keeps warm air from reaching cold metal, which helps reduce condensation and dripping.

What thickness do I need in a shed?

It depends on how you use the shed. As a guide, closed cell foam gives around R1.0 at 24mm and R2.0 at 48mm. We'll confirm a thickness against current data sheets.

Can you insulate a shed that's full of equipment?

Often, yes. Stored items may need to be moved or covered, and we'll talk you through preparation during the assessment.

Is spray foam safe to use in a shed or workshop?

Once cured, the foam is non-hazardous and free of formaldehyde and asbestos. It must be installed by licensed applicators wearing PPE while it's airborne, so people stay clear during application and return when the installer advises it's safe.

Is spray foam fire rated?
